Pancit Lomi Soup

Pancit Lomi Soup

"Lomi or Pancit Lomi is a Filipino-Chinese dish made with a variety of thick fresh egg noodles of about a quarter of an inch in diameter, soaked in lye water to give it more texture. Because of its popularity at least in the eastern part of Batangas, there are as many styles of cooking lomi as there are eateriespanciterias or restaurants offering the dish. Variations in recipes and quality are therefore very common." (Wikipedia)

Little Iron Man Amigurumi

Little Iron Man Amigurumi
I promised Matt that I will make an Iron Man crochet item since it was one of his favorites. I was thinking of making a hat but Mommy asked me to make a little amigurumi so it will be hung on his bag. Mommy had already made an Iron Man mask for him.

Some might be asking what is an amigurumi?

"Amigurumi (crocheted or knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, andnuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features, as is typical in Japanese culture." Oatmeal-Arrozcaldo Overload

Arrozcaldo Overload

Last Sunday, Mommy is not feeling well. So to keep her warm, I made oatmeal-arrozcaldo overload. Overload because I added more toppings with added twist. Instead of sautéing the chicken before adding rice, I cooked it adobo style first then made into flakes.

Adding oatmeal is already a part of cooking rice poridge at home making it healthier.

Up, Up and Away Wednesday: Morning Sky

"Heavy hearts, like heavy clouds in the sky,
are best relieved by letting of a little water."
- Christopher Morley

Morning Sky

This shot is taken last week before we left home for work. We are in a rush for we might get late at work so I used my phone instead of the camera.

Peanut-Oatmeal-Butter Cookies

Peanut-Oatmeal-Butter Cookies

Doing cookies seems easy for me since I had the convection oven at home. I made several varieties like oreo cheesecake and chocolate chips-raisin-oatmeal. These cookies are always part of Matthew's school baon which he really loves.

Two Sundays ago, I made another variety which I used rolled oats and roasted peanuts, increased the amount of butter, and remove flour.
