Up, Up and Away Wednesday: Ball of Fire

"Sunsets, like childhood,
are viewed with wonder not just because they are beautiful
but because they are fleeting."
– Richard Paul Evans

I already posted another version of this shot. You can check it HERE.

Let's make a survey. Which one do you prefer? The grayscale or this one?

Random Shots Friday: The Oval

“Someone who doesn't make the (Olympic) team might weep and collapse.
In my day no one fell on the track and cried like a baby.
We lost gracefully.
And when someone won, he didn't act like he'd just become king of the world, either.
Athletes in my day were simply humble in our victory.I believe we were more mature then...
Maybe it's because the media puts so much pressure on athletes;
 maybe it's also the money.
In my day we competed for the love of the sport...
In my day we patted the guy who beat us on the back, wished him well, and that was it.”

Louis Zamperini, Devil at My Heels: A Heroic Olympian's Astonishing Story of Survival as a Japanese POW in World War II
The Oval
I got this shot last November when we had a mini-picnic at the athletic field in my Alma Mater. This is the race track for the sprint events. This place is better known as "Oval" since this 400-m race track is shaped like an oval.

Pechay-Wrapped Siomai

I am not cooking pork Nilaga or sinigang
 I am doing siomai instead.
In our way to work, there is a place where there is a plantation of pechay. They are also selling some at the roadside at affordable price compared to those sold in the market.

The Felt Cloth Bows

The short crochet break we had gave me a chance to explore other craft materials like felt cloth. I remember that I have few sheets in our box and I waste no time looking for what crafty things I can do out the felt cloths.

Luckily, I got a batch of MTO felt cloth bows and I must say these are easier to make as compared to crochet bows.

Maja Mais

Maja Mais
The first time I did this, it was a bit soggy. The other night, because Mommy is craving for Maja, I tried it again and I got the perfect mixture.

Working in the kitchen is like performing laboratory experiments. My experiment this time is making it creamier by incorporating all-purpose cream.

Grayscale Thursday: Star ng Pasko

“I think that we are like stars.
Something happens to burst us open;
but when we burst open and think we are dying;
we’re actually turning into a supernova.
And then when we look at ourselves again,
we see that we’re suddenly more beautiful than we ever were before!”
- C. JoyBell C.

Pahabol lang....
I got this shot on New Year's Day at SM Marilao. These are one of their decors hanging from the ceiling during the Holiday Season.

First MTO for 2014

Our break from crocheting end too soon because we can't help but accept orders before the 2nd week of January as scheduled. We are not used to not crocheting at night so I told Daddy why not accept few orders and worked on it. So let me share our first MTO for 2014.

Crochet Miniature Hat

Happy New Year everyone!

We had our short crochet break last month but I really don't stop crocheting. #crochetaddict I tried to crochet bows and butterflies. I already took step by step photos of how to crochet a bow and I'll share that soon here.

Meanwhile, if you remember I have already made a crochet mini top hat headband. This time I try to make mini hats with bow.   Here they are!

Up, Up and Away Wednesday: Orange Sun

"There’s a sunrise
and sunset every single day,
and they’re absolutely free.
Don’t miss so many of them"
– Jo Walton

I got this shot one afternoon on our way home from work. The sun was really big and orange. If I got a nicer glass (term for lens my professional photographer), I framed this better.

By the way, oldies said that when you see a orange or reddish sun, there is a strong storm coming. After a week of seeing this, "Santi" came. Is the saying true or just a coincidence?

Random Shots Friday: Tap-Tap

"We are all like fireworks.
We climb, shine and always go our separate ways and become further apart.
But even it that time comes,
let's not disappear like a firework, and continue to shine...
FOREVER."

-T. Kubo (Tōshirō Hitsugaya "Bleach")

Taptap
I took this last New Year's Eve. For 5 years, we didn't bought any fireworks or firecrackers for the said event. This year, Mommy and I decided to buy some for a change.

Many rush to Bocaue in buying fireworks and firecrackers but we bought it in Pulong Buhangin, Sta. Maria, Bulacan which is a bit cheaper.
