I love eating street foods but this is not recommended especially if you have a very sensitive digestive system. However, you can still enjoy eating these street foods by making your own at home. The first one I will share is the isaw ng baboy (small intestine of pork).
|Skewed Isaw (cooked like adobo before broiling)|
You will need:
1 kilo pork isaw, cut into 1” long
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup vinegar
1 medium sized onion, chopped
1 head garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 tsp ground pepper
½ cup melted butter for pasting
Here’s how to do it:
Combine all the ingredients except butter. Bring to boil and simmer until isaw is cooked. Do not cover while cooking to liberate the excess acidity of the vinegar. Cool and skew using bamboo stick. Reserve the sauce.
For pasting: Combine the sauce and melted butter.
Broil over charcoal with frequent brushing using the paste mixture.
On my next post, I will share how to make another famous street food. The kwek-kwek.
